"subl ." opens empty window

#1

Sometimes when I try to open the current directory in sublime from the command line (subl .), it does launch the app but with an empty window, not the current directory. Other times it works properly.

This happens in both ST2 and 3.

My subl bin is /usr/local/bin/subl@ -> /Applications/Sublime Text.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/subl

I see the same behavior, with both ST2 and ST3.

I was hoping this bug would be fixed in ST3, but it’s still happening to me with the build 3012. :frowning:

Yeah, this has happened to me since forever as well. Just swap back to your terminal and run the command a second time and it should work. It’d be nice to have it work reliably, though!

This happens to me all the time and I’d love to see it fixed.

I happen to use the following settings and wonder if others affected by this do too?

"hot_exit": false,
"remember_open_files": false,

I get the same thing

"hot_exit": true,
"remember_open_files": true,

edit –

On Mac you can also use

open -a "Sublime Text" .

not sure if it does the same thing, because I can never really figure out why subl does it in the first place, but early tests are looking good
