Add new element to a language

#1

Hi,

I’m using markdown and pandoc a lot to write academic papers. In pandoc, you have the possiblity of adding citations (using a bibtex file), with

@the_citation_key

I’d really like that these keys appear differently in my document than plain text. As far as I know, I’ll have to add something to the language file (here, markdown), then to the color theme? Is that correct?

Can someone point me to good references to do this kind of modifications?

Hello.

You should change *.tmLanguage file to accomplish your needs.
Possibly you won’t want to change color theme.

Look here to find out about language file:http://manual.macromates.com/en/language_grammars.
Also you will need to write language file in plist, look at this forum about conversion.

Color theme files are quite self-explanatory after you deal with syntax. Again, its not nessesary to change them.
