Find results as a first-class buffer

#1

I briefly used Source Insight, and one thing I really liked about it was that the Find In Files results were put into a first-class buffer—by that I mean that the buffer was searchable, editable, etc. You could still use a key command to go straight to the result (like double-clicking on a result in Sublime). I really liked this format, because it let me search for all occurrences of something, and then delete the results as I fixed them or whatever. Also, new results could be appended to the end of this buffer instead of replacing the buffer, so you could be dealing with multiple searches at once and not accidentally overwrite your search results by bringing up the find quickpanel (incidentally, is there any way to bring back the search results once you’ve closed the box? Or do you just have to re-search? I can’t figure it out).

Thanks!

Incidentally, is there any way to have a plugin use the Find in Project functionality? I didn’t see anything listed when I glanced through the API.
