ST2: Choppy scrolling on Ubuntu 13.04?

#1

Hey everyone,

I seem to be having some performance problems in Ubuntu 13.04. Is that just me / my system? Is this a well known fact?
Choppy scrolling seems to be the most performance hungry thing.

Would suck if I had to find a new editor because of this after having gotten used to Sublime Text so well :frowning:.

Best regards,
Flo

It might be smooth scrolling that’s screwing up your system. Go to Preferences - Default, and search for “scroll_speed”. Set it to 0. First thing I did when I installed sublime text, and it made me much happier!

Ah, that fixed it. Gotta get used to these config files…

Thank you .

Same problem happens in Ubuntu 12.04 if I add ppa: ppa:inkscape.dev/trunk which upgrades packages: libcairo-gobject2 libcairo2
Workaround is to purge inkscape trunk ppa.

I’m quite interested in finding the source of this issue. Could you let us know what the versions of those packages (with and without the ppa) are? Someone should make the lib maintainers aware of this.
