Any reason why sqlite is missing and can we get it bundled with ST3?

Right now the ST3 is kind of feature complete (at least that’s how I see it) and it’s almost perfect.
What leaves to be desired is the plugin API. There seems to be quite some things missing and no way to install/update them.
