Mercurial for Sublime

#1

Hey,

today I released a new Version (1.2.0) of my package.
It integrates Mercurial (the dvcs aka hg) into Sublime.
It’s a fork of hg4subl and adds some more features to it.

You can grab it from package control or via bitbucket.

I didn’t get much feedback till today. So I post this thread and hope to change that.

So give me feedback what’s totaly wrong, what needs improvements or what’s still missing.
You can take a look at the issue tracking and keep up to date by following me on tumblr about releases, new features and current development.

Maybe you dont get much feedback cos there is no doc on how to use it

I read https://packagecontrol.io/packages/Mercurial%20for%20Sublime still cant figure it out
you talk about all the included features, but how to access them ?what are the shrotcuts ?

the only menu I found does not even allow me to make a commit (rt click on project folder)

If I go to Tools/mercurial HG menu most options are grayed out and still no “commit” entry

There is no doc, because there is nothing special. All commands are accessed through the menus or Command Palette. Everything is done the “Sublime Text Way”, so what documentation do you need?

Also context menu and menus are provided.

And information are shown in status bar:

I’ll try to find a hg plugin with a commit command at least

Well does the status bar show anything?

If not, did you open a versioned file from the repository?

If nothing of that works, did you take a look at the console? Perhaps the binary is not inside the $PATH and you have to configure the binary path to your mercurial, see https://bitbucket.org/DanielSiepmann/mercurial-for-sublime/src/60f55c4755e3f965d3d865305353186128dd5c5c/Mercurial%20for%20Sublime.sublime-settings?at=default&fileviewer=file-view-default
